I have to agree. "Directs the activities of other support staff" and "full responsibility of department wide event and travel planning" both to me seem like a managing position rather than a Sr. Assistant position.
Would need more to go on then that. The location, what are salaries for similar in that area. Might not be bad if you are just getting started and can move into different things from it. Being in a higher cost of living is a struggle itself and jobs won’t always match that.
It’s in the Chicagoland area. I work for a mid size firm (5000+). I manage a team of 30+, admins only, no event management or travel, no expense management, no budget management, no office practices or procedures. All those are done by other people or teams. My salary was over $100k. We require 5 years experience just for the admin roles.
That’s because we all know admins are the backbone… the glue that holds everything together yet we are not valued. We are worked to death and not paid what we are worth. I was in education and it took me 17 years to earn not quite 70k with a BA degree!!
It’s listed as a “Sr Administrative Assistant”, not a manger, and is only requiring 1 year experience.

For the city of Chicago, it's low. Suburbs it's actually on par with a lot but often see jobs posted for even less pay. The compensation for our field is getting lower every time I look, tbh, so I'm not too surprised by this.
