Anyone have any suggestions on how to discuss not spending my own money on office expenses? We don't have corporate cards, yet I'm expected to purchase snacks on a constant basis for meetings.

You should be submitting an expense report!!! Or get someone’s Amex! Please don’t eat that cost. Pun intended.

NEVER use your own money for that without expensing them please! Definitely address it!

Can you expense to someone on your team with a card?

like

Please make sure to keep any receipts as well :)

like

Def expense those. Get the right approvals first to make sure there are no issues with reimbursement, but BDO1 is right....You shouldn’t be eating those charges. Pun also intended. A manager or partner Amex works fine as well. If a leader asked for something, simply get approval to use their card. It helps if you do their expenses.

I’m just curious, was the question about reimbursement ever brought up? Do you work for a non- profit? Very bizarre. Please speak up and put in a reimbursement for the next office treat! See what happens then!

Hi! Has anyone tried Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C serum? If yes, would you recommend and how did it help you?
I am basically planning on upgrading my skincare and introducing Vitamin C to start with. I typically have clear skin with one -two acne hyperpigmentation marks that I am trying to fix. My Skin type is normal-dry.
I saw mixed reviews about the serum mostly good though. Nevertheless wanted to check if anyone had any experience that they’d like to share. Thank you :)

I'm a first year associate at a mid-sized defense firm. I have had a lot of success and have received considerable praise from both our managing partner and the partner (rainmaker) who feeds me work. Partner giving me work says I'm the best associate he has had in at least 20 years. As a result, I have already received some depo/trial experience.

My problem is I want to go to the Plaintiff's side. Does my early success only carryover to other Defense firms? Or can I go to good Plaintiff's shop?

2. What skills will be considered critical to be successful in the role?
3. How is success defined in the role?
4. What does the career progression look like?
5. What background is considered desirable for this role? Can one get into this role without prior background in NPI?

Thanks in advance!

How do you manage your money?

I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.

I’m very privileged to have a significant inheritance and zero debt of any kind. I really wonder how my peers who have student loans, car payments, and even children manage to pay their bills and live so comfortably. Please share if this is you!

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

Hi all. My 6mo rvw is approaching in <2mo. I am aware I will receive a performance-based raise, but not sure how much. My student loan payments kick back in shortly after and I could use some advice on how to ensure that raise accommodates as much of my new debt as possible. I have over 6 years of various office and FOH experience, but no degree. I often receive praise from coworkers and intend on revising my SOP to record every one of my tasks in my current position to cover my basis. Thoughts?
