Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure

Yep. Helpful in M&A, Merger Arbitrage, securities fraud etc

“Finance” is a wide net. There are plenty of roles where legal background would help:
-compliance
-in house counsel
-regulatory reporting
Or are you looking for something more pure “finance” as in a Financial controller role?
Tons! I went to law school part time while in finance and the plan was to go into big law. Ultimately, decided to stay and apply the degree to my work. Having the live exposure to the various ways to use my degree in Finance plus finding my now husband led me to change my mind about my plan so that I could have more work life balance.
It’s not just compliance and legal. There’s much more in between - especially at larger firms with various products and client bases. Feel free to DM.
Lots. There’s obviously in-house Legal, and also several career paths in investment product management/development where a legal background is useful for interpreting regulations, negotiating contracts with service providers, and understanding the nuances of fund legal structures. Some of our senior-most business leaders are ex lawyers — the ethos of thinking like a lawyer is definitely helpful in a business context at a financial firm
I will echo what others have said. You can also work for the Big 4 as they are going into legal consulting. I don't have much info on this, but something to explore if interested.
Banks like Wells are filled with legal issues. Employment law issues, transactions, contracts, etc., can be explored. It is a toxic place with an unsupportive environment with many people's problems, so the challenges are plenty if these things don't bother you.
Yes for sure there is!!
Tax laws is also an option.
