“Finance” is a wide net. There are plenty of roles where legal background would help:
-compliance
-in house counsel
-regulatory reporting
Or are you looking for something more pure “finance” as in a Financial controller role?
Tons! I went to law school part time while in finance and the plan was to go into big law. Ultimately, decided to stay and apply the degree to my work. Lots. There’s obviously in-house Legal, and also several career paths in investment product management/development where a legal background is useful for interpreting regulations, negotiating contracts with service providers, and understanding the nuances of fund legal structures. Banks like Wells are filled with legal issues. Employment law issues, transactions, contracts, etc., can be explored. It is a toxic place with an unsupportive environment with many people's problems, so the challenges are plenty if these things don't bother you.
Yes for sure there is!!
Tax laws is also an option.
