Not excited by our bonus structure. Everything is dictated by billable hours and I’m just churning with no motivation.

My dream job is to be a public defender but they’re not hiring at the moment in my area. I’m not having an easy time finding a way “in”. In the mean time I’ve interviewed with a couple of family law firms in an area of law that I don’t think I’ll particularly love. I have about another month or two before my bar loan money dries up. If I receive an offer from family law, should I take it? Or is it realistic to get by doing document review and volunteer work until the PD will hopefully hire me?

So sad I didn’t get a chance to say bye to my kiddos. Even sadder to know u might not get the chance 😭

I’m a month in and still majorly adjusting since the partner I’m working under is working remotely (alongside most of the staff) and find myself up to thirty-one cases and also helping out the partners on a few other matters. Hey everyone, I currently work at Deloitte but I'm thinking of leaving to go work for a smaller consulting firm (Alvarez & Marsal) because I would be in a higher position and get paid better, but I'm having second thoughts about leaving because of the structured career path that I have here.
