The amount of kids coming out of B-school MBA’s with one internship and expecting 100k in low cost of living cities is crazy lol. What are they telling these students…

Don’t hire them and move on. No need to mock someone else’s salary expectation.

like

They are ambitious and absolutely nothing wrong with that ! A closed mouth never gets fed

like

They’re paying ~200K for the MBA and you’re going to offer them less than 100K? That’s literally like offering JDs less than 100k after going law school and passing the bar. They don’t have experience either

like

MBA’s are pointless, and I have one. I did it during covid to have the hrs to sit for a certain exam. Faculty had some idiots in our cohort thinking they were worth something just because they re-learned accounting 101.

likesmart

I may be over generalizing here, but a good amount of their peers go into investment banking where first-year all-in comp with signing bonus is easily over $300k. And if it’s not their direct peers, they’re definitely aware what other MBA grads are making.
Unless it’s a bottom-tier no-name MBA, I can’t imagine $100k being considered high even in a LCOL city.

like

Not all MBAs are created equally. If someone got into an MBA program with 1 internship on their resume, then chances are that program was bottom bucket.

likefunny

100k isn’t a lot, it’s not hard to get

like

100k is low. I make 90 plus bonus with less than 4 years of experience and a bachelors degree. Many would still say I’m underpaid for an FP&A role. Why would anyone spend the time and money to get an MBA and not even make 100k?

like

Lol this is why I have not bothered getting one

Yeah what, I’m making >100k lcol w no mba and only 4 yoe

MBA’s are expensive to get! honestly good for them for knowing the worth they bring to the table.

I'm a Canadian on the TN visa working in the US and planning on maxing my Roth IRA (6k) and will have enough left to max my 401k this year, but am not sure if I should just use a taxable account over 401k due to tax considerations when I move back to Canada (likely 1-2 years from now). Any thoughts here? I don't think I'll have enough RRSP room to move 401k>IRA>RRSP and I would prefer to not have to file US taxes every year in retirement for withdrawls if I left the 401k in the US.

What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)
