So here’s what I will say when comparing against my peers without an MBA.
They are smart, wise, and know how to do their jobs. That’s all they know, but it’s quite a lot.
They do not understand things like how their roles/goals fits in the larger organization. They do not always know how to think/problem solve larger problems. Someone with a fresh education may not be as effective at their job.
There are clearly things that are only learned from experience, and there are some things you only learn in school.
Let me do an anecdotal comparison, that yes, happened to me. I went for my quarterly blood draw. The phlebotomist is young and fairly new. He/she knows how to stick the vein and draw the blood without much pain. That’s education. For the first time in my life, I start to blackout during a blood draw. The phlebotomist starts calling for help. Now I can still hear things going on, but for whatever reason I’m blacked out. I hear a nurse put her hand on my on my back rubbing it, and she’s barking out orders. She tells someone to get an ice pack. I’m wondering if I’m going to be okay. I hear what sounds like it a package being caught one handed, because I feel her other hand on me. She cracks that pack with one hand. That’s when knew I was going to be okay. She starts putting the ice pack on the back of my neck, and the I start to “see” again. That, is experience.

Yea unfortunately many roles require the education first then you gain that experience !
I am on a team of all RN's. They made an exception for me to join them. I am a registered medical assistant. I have 24 years experience in healthcare and ideally they thought I had a lot to offer the team.
