I’m in the final rounds of my interview process for a NYC Hedge fund, non tech role. The recruiter mentioned the compensation package is bonus heavy which can be multiples of base salary. Though they will guarantee a full bonus (sign on + year end) for my first year. 300k target

My current role/company is salary focused so I’m out of my element negotiating the bonuses.

What type of questions should I ask the recruiter about the bonus payouts? Vesting?

If you had a choice between Jones Day and Schulte, which would/should you choose and why? It’s hard to look pass the ranking/prestige of Jones Day but they are black box whereas Schulte is lockstep and a funds specialist firm which could lead to GC roles at a fund quite easily in the long term. I’m 25 and have been working for the same bank for 2 years. Started as a call center agent and moved into a supervisor role. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I have an offer in PE VP role in Citco and JPM and I am at cross road on which is one to company to choose. Their pay is very similar but JPM is offering an attractive signing on bonus. I need a honest advise on which is better between these two firms.

In negotiation for a Manager Role for BNY Mellon (grade K). Looking for some guidance on how hard I can push the issue with increasing my offer.
My convo with the HR recruiter was that he would push for $130k plus a sign on bonus. Offer is coming back at $125k with no bonus. Exiting my current position I'll be leaving a 3% pay increase, $12k bonus payout next month and full remote work on the table. Those considered it would be a lateral financial move for the 2023 year.
