Pay package was a little bit low, and this recruiter promised to get back to me with a better deal because she saw me as the ideal candidate, and she kept to her word,

Love that this is still a thing.
Some companies, aren’t able to raise the rate up.
I am just glad, theirs still hope in this world.
Congratulations.
I once had a recruiter ask if I was open to a potential job that didn't fully align with my experience but thought I would be the perfect fit. I had a lot of respect for that particular recruiter and decided to give it a try. Spent 10 years at that company.

10 years is rare these days in this new world of looking for work and work.
That’s a good recruiter thinking that way.
Respect.
I dealt with a recruiter years ago who gave me some coaching that served me well. A lot of it was common sense, now that I look back on it, but it was quite helpful. Sometimes someone else can see you objectively and give you good advice, and it's wise to be open to that sort of coaching.

It’s always good to get an outside perspective on things.
Sometimes we might have blinders on when moving through life.
This is why, coaching (done right) is helpful.
My experience wasn’t with a recruiter. It was with a hiring manager.
He stopped my interview right in the middle and said ‘I need to stop this interview. Sit tight and I’ll be back in just a few minutes’. And when he returned instead of the role that I had posted for and was interested in he offered me a leadership position saying that I was already doing everything about being a leader, except the title and the pay.
So I accepted, and that was the best thing that I’ve ever done as far as my career up to that point. I was scared to death because I knew nothing compared to the people that I was hired in with but I kept my mouth shut, my eyes and my ears open and I learned so much. I stayed in leadership for over 15 years because of it.

Wow.
Stopped the interview in the middle of it.
I bet you were confused for a sec, but it ended up to be the best level up in your life.
Good on the hiring a manger, for doing this trust me, not a lot will go the extra mile like that.
And on the people part, yeah it’s another beast all together.
But now you have the skill points in that area, to level up again.
Never.
Stop.
Leveling up.

Called me after each interview. I think it’s a bit much but it was nice to connect and sync up after every discussion.

Communication is key, in this new world of looking for work and work now.
Just think of the countless people whomever a call back.
I love it when I am in the loop, so I can plan ahead.
