EYP salary is quite bad, was surprised by what I was offered. Their pitch was better brand value than Deloitte but financially they are going to pay lower than what I would make as a manager at Deloitte. For context, it’s a manager/director role in EYP and I am going to become a Manager at Deloitte this year (my partner and team is confident about my promo). Any suggestions?

We had evaluations and normally we have annual raises. I think my salary is under market value at $68k (plus OT) in Los Angeles (5 years of experience). I was told I am one of the top employees in the firm. When I asked about a raise, I was told “when you think about it at your level 5k to 10k doesn’t really matter it’s the long term goal that matters”. What would be your response to that, to a partner who is making 500-600k a year?

Evening! Dog owners who live in condo rentals downtown.. did you tell your landlord you had a dog? I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.
