Feeling frustrated. Accepted a new position a few months ago. Due to company guidelines I only received a small increase. There was no negotiating. I am now Realizing that my direct reports are making considerably more than me. (20-30% more). I’m currently doing an employment case where OC is not an attorney at a traditional p firm - she’s a staff attorney at a legal tech company who appears to be bringing this case as a one-off. Thus, I’m not sure how she is funding this litigation, or if her she employer even knows about the case - and I assume she would only be able to do this case if she had their own separate malpractice policy. Are there any ethical issues w/ that representation? Do legal tech co.’s allow this type of thing?

Signed my offer letter today but I still don’t see what level I am. I don’t see it listed in the contract? Is that normal?

I’m a first year lawyer and I was hired by very prestigious firm about 2 months ago. Been working remotely for the last month. I feel like ever since day 1 I’ve been treading water. I have years of experience working at law firms, but now as an attorney I feel like a little kid in the major leagues.
