Feeling stuck. Severely undervalued.

I’m a software engineer at a finance company. After my Masters I’ve 6.5yoe. my salary has not increased much at all. My total comp is the new grads pay.

Im stuck in this job due to immigration processes for 2 more yrs and I was told no to a promotion (chance at a hike).

Being treated like shit, a slave whose job is on the edge and not paid any close to appropriately.

How do I deal with this? It eats me every day.

I have a new client who, I think, got bad legal advice from someone else she consulted with. From the information I have, there is no way she gets to the numbers I do. I work in a pretty small legal community. How do I address this delicately? My client is hung up on “but that’s not that X said” even though I’ve explained it multiple times and way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
