I used to use the traditional resume format, but I’ve recently switched to the Google resume method, which I believe is called “X-Y-Z.”
Here’s how it works: select three key achievements from a previous job, frame them as “This was the problem, this is what I did, and this was the result.” That’s it! This method significantly reduces the length of your resume. I went from almost four pages to just under two pages.
Even the “customization” section is straightforward. I identify the top three aspects that the employer highlighted in the job description and determine where I’ve aligned with them, even if it’s by a small margin. Then, I make slight adjustments to my resume’s About Me section to reflect these similarities.

ooh haven't really heard about this before. Going to have to look into it and see how I can incorporate into my existing resume. Did you notice a difference in response after switching to the XYZ method?
I still keep my resume to one page with 15+ years experience. In all honesty, two pages are fine, but beyond that I think is overkill.
In terms of non-design related jobs, I would include and frame in the description why it’s relevant to your next role, unless the job length is quite short.
I always try to keep it down to two pages. I have heard from recruiters and hiring managers that if a resume is longer than that, they don't even look at it. No need to put things on there that aren't related.
How much of a gap? For me, it’s not too hard to keep it to one page, just because I don’t have that much relevant work experience.

I generally don't go beyond 2 pages. I've played around with 1 column vs 2 column but usually stick to one page. I feel like it's cleaner and easier to work with that way
