London was great pre pandemic, 5 days a week office, plenty of post work drinks and plenty of friends living there. Moved out to the countryside during the pandemic and partly with how life has moved on I don’t miss anything about it. Mainly because all of the reasons to be central aren’t there anymore… and I can afford a bigger house

Love London, it has its problems but genuinely the best city in the world. Feel very blessed to be here. Could be paid more though 🤷🏻♂️
Lived in Chelsea during my time in London and loved the area but there were a lot of areas I did not like. Relocated to NY and haven’t looked back. Enjoying Upper West Side and difference in money / savings makes moving back impossible to justify
Was on a global project and leadership agreed to transfer me. Helped by the fact my wife was a US citizen
Moved to London from America. Loved it. Was so, so hard to live and thrive in. Have left. Much easier life.
Also HCOL, and yes, more or less
I’m very mixed. London is much better than lots of places but feels incredibly hard work imo
Too big, grey and expensive to live a good life in
But a summer weekend in London is hard to beat
Moved to London post pandemic from Leamington Spa with a young child in nursery. Always wanted to live in London so really enjoy it and I’m happy here, sometimes I wish I was still in Leamington and wonder if I made the right decision as whilst people where moving out of London, I was moving in 😂 I love it here!
Moved to London from South Africa. I’ve been for 6 years but plan on leaving this year. Career wise it’s been incredible and has granted me opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible anywhere else for me. I also think it’s one of the best cities in the world with tons to do and see, and is quite liveable despite is size and intensity.
Long term it is a bit tiring, I personally value a softer life and I don’t make the type of money that could afford that here. Even if I did, I don’t think that being ultra rich in London is what I would want anyways.
I would encourage anyone to do a stint in this city, it has so much to offer, and I think that’s objective. Living here forever is much more subjective and down to preference

Been here for 11 years and it’s starting to lose its shine, moving out into the countryside soon
7 years in London, for career this is the only city that matters
Yup I mean in the UK, of course.
London over anywhere else in the UK.. but want to get out of this country asap.. it has aged me and I much prefer a 'softer' pace of life
Berlin? Chil? Do you know how much energy it takes to get into Berghain, handle your polycule, and go to the Crypto x Äffective Altruism mixer?
London is awesome, lived here 10 years, massively helped my career mobility. Probably will move out to the countryside (looking at North Yorkshire or towards Bristol) because it’s so expensive but they both are equally beautiful places.

Loved London when I was younger. Now live in Home Counties so I can have a house for kids etc.
Yes but can be isolating when your family don’t live in London or nearby at all. I’ve moved in with my mum now cause at the end of the day it’s not helped me save money
Moved here from continental Europe, found a partner here so staying put. Under different circumstances I would have moved to Asia, or maybe the US for the right job (through intracompany transfer).
Not to Dubai - don't see much long term benefits aside from the money, and by that I mean no taxes
Moved from Sydney to London. In consulting you earn more in London than in Sydney and get more broader pan European experience here. But I would suggest on every other metric (cost of living to salary ratio, crime, health system public services, social cohesion, weather, WLB etc ) - the quality of life in Sydney is much higher than London. Starting to wonder if its worth slogging it here TBH
Love what it has, not what it can give
