EV's depreciation worse than gas by far ATM, they may be cheaper to maintain, but TCO isn't a no-brainer.
Get the M2 and live out your dream. If you still, at some point, want to go electric, the M2 will have held its value far better than any EV. Doing the reverse is a far costlier proposition.
The N55 in our X4, which I bought new, has been rock solid for almost 140k miles. The primary concern will be the plastic bits that get brittle over time, which is more a product of age rather than mileage. As long as there's no smoke or smells, I wouldn't worry too much about the engine. It's a sports car though, make sure the transmission feels solid.
Apparently you can get GREAT deals on CPO Taycans, if you want to look into that

As for the 6-speed manual, I fear that by the time I get my next car, gas-powered vehicles and 6-speeds will be harder to come by. I am currently considering two cars for this:
Honda Civic Type-R
Corolla GR
BMW M2 (pre-2021)
In regard to the Honda, I think it would be the most well-rounded option, although I don't like the FWD bias. For the Corolla, it's a tad small and I'm not the biggest fan of its aesthetics, but I've heard it's a great and engaging car.
For the M2, this has been my attainable dream car for some time now, and I would love to have the pre-facelift model in decent condition, or even the Competition -- Would love to hear thoughts on the different offerings
