We bought these blocks for my daughter when she was about your sons age. She absolutely loved them and her 4yo brother now loves them. I presume when my youngest gets to that age he will as well.
Great choice! I loved wooden blocks as a kid, as did my younger brother.
MAGNATILES! My almost 4yo daughter can’t get enough of them 😄, and has loved them for more than a year
Lego Duplo, any Melissa and Doug toys, dinosaurs, dress up clothes, games like Hungry Hungry Hippos, Peppa Pig, Bluey, action figures from Marvel/DC
MagneTiles, Lincoln Logs, and Brio sets are the order of the day for my 4yo.
We love foam blocks or magnetic tiles in our household.
My daughter is 14 now and she STILL loves playing with magnatiles. Those things are amazing.
My wife may play with the Magnatiles more than my kids!
Home Depot and Lowe’s have a free monthly project you can take home that my son likes. You need to go online and reserve it ahead. A lot of them double as toys once built. Mostly hammer and nails so you may do most of the actual building for a 4 yo.
Magnatiles and Melissa and Doug would be top choices for me personally, lots of variety and so much fun!
