Got an agent and she was useless for finding good tenants. Got frustrated and finally started finding leads myself and closing on one soon. I have signed a contract with the agent for paying one months rent as fee. How can i fight this or as he has been literally of zero value add? I will ofcourse ask nicely but wanted to see if i have any other options!

My parents did this as well. Agent was useless and just creating more hassle by nitpicking random crap that was a non-issue. Kept saying people aren't interested after a while month on the market and to lower the rent. Place was gorgeous, well maintained and with fresh floors and fresh paint and fresh landscaping and gorgeous roses.
Got a full price immediate offer on rental same day as we listed it. Older couple looking to downsize, just loved it and moved in that weekend.
Agents are useless.

Did you find the person without them? Your agreement might not apply to people you find yourself.

Was finding tenants their only responsibility or are they also managing the property and dealing with maintenance issues? If all they are doing is finding tenants, send notice to cancel the contract for non performance.

Should I accept the offer?
