Hi Fishes need your advices urgently. I had an interview scheduled with HCL for today from one HR, after that another HR from HCL called and informed that I have interview for Yesterday. I told her about Friday interview, she told that will nit happen, so I attentded that, cleared 2 rounds and now she sent mail for documents submission. I called HR1 and informed on Thursday interview, she said that is ok, you can attend Friday interview as scheduled. I attended that as well.

I have 2.5 years of experience as a BI consultant primarily working with SQL and Power BI. I feel a little underpaid while currently making $75k. All of my performance reviews have been positive and I have been the lead/only BI developer on two of our largest and most public projects this year. I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.
