Had a group interview for a hotel front desk role last week. It felt rushed and they said they would be in touch soon, but nothing yet. Do group interviews usually take longer to hear back from, or is silence a bad sign in hospitality hiring?

I haven't done many group interviews, I don't feel like the timeline was all that much longer than in normal ones, though. With that said, Christmas is next week, and that always slows things down. I wouldn't read too much into any amount of silence right now. You probably won't hear anything back until next week at the earliest.

Yeah maybe, it’s just a difficult situation!

I honestly think they are lazy and outdated. I had one once and it was a terrible experience. I don’t think I would work for a place that does them. Probably good you move on.

Yeah I think so!! I don’t like them realistically but sometimes you gotta step out your comfort zone!

I absolutely hate group interviews. I think they are lazy as well and they don't give people a chance to really shine. I would try to follow up with them and see if you get a response.

I hate them too! Sometimes the quiet ones are good too though! We all start somewhere!

I don’t enjoy group interviews but does bring out the competitive nature in me. Anytime I’ve had a group interview, I usually heard back within a week or so. However, keep in mind it is the holiday season so they might be slow to do everything.

Yeah I guess it would. But it’s just a scary thought maybe!

I’ve never actually had a group interview, so I wouldn’t be able to know if they take longer. But it sounds like it would because they had to evaluate each of you individually and how you interacted with each other.

They don’t necessarily take longer it’s just scarier haha

Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co. Any advice?

I'm holding an offer from MakeMyTrip and another offer from OlaElectric. Ninjacart is willing to make me an offer. But they're saying that they'd discuss the offer only after the other company that I'm interviewing with has come up with an offer first. There's been a delay from HRs of the companies in a similar way. How do I urge them to send me the offer letter without sounding pushy? I had reached out to some of the HRs myself. Would that be too awkward if I accept & back out their offer?

I was wondering why I didn’t see many farewell mails after April 18. Well, it looks like we don’t have anyone to quit. We now have more PMMDs than experienced seniors. Is this your situation as well? It looks like no amount of money will keep the staff from quitting.

Went from a big firm to work for a smaller firm. The people in the smaller firm are protective of their work and are good by their work too. I no longer feel chaos or stress. I am treated with respect and my schedule is more normal. I am even working more billable hours than before, but it feels like a seamless experience. I don’t work then past 5pm or anything out of the ordinary for this time of the year. I am so grateful!

I see a lot of Jr. Level folks (myself included) in this bowl asking about certain finance exit opps like MM IB and PE etc.

At some point is the comp that much better?

From Big4 Transparency: S1/MCOL/2YOE/FDD making $97k. Managers MCOL close to $150k.

very Selective jobs( MF PE and BB IBs) kinda blow these numbers out of the water... but for the more attainable exits like MM IB and and corporate development... considering wlb and pay, is the grass much greener?

Thoughts?
