You need a PCR test to transit AMS both ways. Otherwise no issues. You will stay in the non Schengen area.
Simple, are you a US citizen or Green Card? In that case you’re good
To further clarify. Entering the Us won’t be an issue. But you can’t enter the Netherlands, only transit through the Amsterdam airport never going through immigrations
Thanks, my concern is being allowed to board the flight from SA to AMS, as the Netherlands website makes it sound like only people who meet certain criteria (not including US citizens) are allowed on those flights. However the KLM website says that international transit passengers from high risk countries need a PCR test and the reps have told me they think I’m good. Still a little nervous but looking like it’ll be alright.
I was able to fly through AMS but they did an extra checkpoint when you got off the plan to check your pcr test results. Check the AMS website to see if you need an additional form... I did not have one form and they let me through but I would have preferred to have filled it out. I do not remember what the information captured.
You’ll likely be fine if all your flights have been bought under a single ticket that includes the transit
Why are you traveling to SA anyway? Of all the relatively safe travel you can do, SA isn’t a great idea.
I appreciate the curiosity and respect the point of view, but I do not want to get into a debate on what necessitates travel and what factors should be considered when deciding to travel on this forum. Just looking to see if anyone can help with understanding the logistics.
