Anyone else completely mail it in after giving their 2 weeks? Major senioritis for me rn. Probably had 2 billable hours today. Maybe
Has anyone noticed that busy season is changing into a marathon, not a sprint? I’m working close to 60 billable hours/week year round, and 70+ Feb - April. Is this a bigger trend?
How do you track your time spent reading and responding to emails? I don’t want to run a timer each time I open outlook, but I feel like I’m losing hours of billable time every day to one-off emails that I would never individually bill for.
What's everyone hoping to get for Christmas? I got my present early: five months of billable work to start off 2016.
Ah! If the clients ever realize the number of billable hours wasted on making slides just ‘look’ pretty!!!!
In the event you don’t have enough billable hours/low on projects to fill your timesheet, you ________________
how many administrative/non billable hours do you have per week? only working 6 billable hours per day right now (tech consulting)
I struggle like crazy staying on track for billable hours. I will work 10.5 hours and look back at my day and 6 of it was billable. Tips for doing better about this?? I have minimums to meet and this is not sustainable
If you exceed your billable hours Monday through Thursday and don’t have much work to do on Friday, is it okay to leave early?
Two of my really good friends at work have had their work dry up in the past few months (because of the Rona). I'm like two months ahead of them on hours, and they're worried about not making their minimum billable requirements. Feel sort of guilty and try to avoid talking about hours with them. I'm just hoping the firm doesn't give them trouble...
Tax work at my law firm is not enough to keep me busy. Maybe I could start doing work in another department to supplement my billable hours. Is anyone here a part timer in another group? I’m thinking investment funds or start ups? Anyone else do this and any advice?
What the most outrageous billable hours you can confirm at your firm? Just learned from a partner that the highest billers at my firm came in at 3600, 3500 and 3200. Seems fishy to me.
What are legitimate options in careers for a tax manager coming from a midsize PA firm and 7 years of experience? I am feeling totally burned out of PA going to have 2,000 billable hours by EOY. Would really appreciate all suggestions!
what is the annual billable hours requirement for a manager/senior manager at KPMG? And is it enforced?
Curious about how many hours plaintiffs litigation attorneys work on average per week. I’m a defense attorney and billable hours don’t make for the best work life balance. Thanks in advance.
Advice for young attorneys dealing with non-billable workload? I’m still my first two months at my firm but a ton of the work I’m being assigned is non-billable. I understand if I’m not still fully on boarded but how are we supposed to keep up billables while being given time consuming non billable work?
I’m pretty sure colleagues at my firm are inflating their billable hours. Is this the norm? I suspect many of you will think this is obvious and/or that I’m naive but wtf? I find hitting 2200 is tough even with a good sized work load. Am I just expected to play the game? I don’t want to sound self-righteous but if most are lying just to make the requirement, then maybe the requirement should be lower.
Fun fact that consultants will appreciate: The weight of the Liberty Bell equals the number of billable hours in the year. 2,080 lbs. Can anyone else “wow” us with a fun fact?
Can anyone speak the the human capital practices at their firm? I'm currently in HC consulting and want to continue working in the field, but not sure what opportunities there are in MBB.
I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. While I’ve gained so much practical experience and run my own book here, I want to shift to a non-traditional remote role in real estate but keep getting turned down. I have strong credentials but I’m worried this small firm experience is killing my marketability to large companies.
Capgemini fishes, what’s the pay range for senior manager in supply chain ? 15 yoe and in Atlanta. Non Capgemini Invent role. TIA
Life of non-immigrants depend on the Visa they hold and it’s so sad these companies don’t have a team where we can speak to someone immediately in case of a visa emergency situation . In EY you need to submit a form and wait for days together to get a reply from a human. Mean time you would have gone through 5 anxiety attacks.
Quick scenario: If I have a consulting offer from a different Big 4 that has a start date post-10/15, so that in theory I would not have to submit a 2 weeks notice until post-10/1 (bonus payout date) but I sign the offer pre-9/30, am I obligated (looking for both legal & professional standpoint) to tell PwC because it is with a competitor? This is essentially the exact same group at the other big 4
Can anyone explain how EY Parthenon undergraduate recruiting works? Like do Growth Strategy and M&A Strategy (TSE) run separate recruiting processes, or is it all under "Summer Associate" and the recruiting team decides which intern is in which group? Thanks!
My room this year is really warm, what’s the best classroom fan that can cool an entire class?
Anyone has the Delta Plat Amex card? How difficult it is to book companion tickets using that annual benefit?
So many intern candidates leaning heavily on their sorority/fraternity experience even when they have had previous internships. Thoughts?
If you request a salary that’s too high does the hirer usually tell you it’s too high and offer you the salary they had in mind or just ghost you and move on to the next candidate?
What does your firm do for evening meals if you work late? Most of our offices bring in a meal couple of nights a week but will no reimburse if in town and working late at a client.
Need to find a new role in the next 90 days. Seeking a job in Investor Relations/BD/Sales within the HF/PE/AM universe(s). Targeting Sr. assoc/VP roles (6-7yoe) . Any potential leads would be extremely appreciated TIA
How do you handle people who are like "I work 9-5, I can't get out of work, can you interview after?" No, because those are our business hours. Do you think we just work non-stop? Also, does anyone else get calls from applicants after 9 pm at night? Like I don't understand what makes people think that's okay? Then again, I am new to New Jersey, Kentucky was never like that.
