I interviewed an Associate nearly two weeks ago, discussed hiring her with the other appropriate parties, and have been waiting since then for the administrative screening to be completed so that we can make a formal offer. It's infuriating on this end too, trust.

Things absolutely take time. Specifically if you are on a tail end of a round or there some additional internal processes.
TY - I am an opportunistic hire so there are def internal processes

Depending on practice, it may also be due to not getting the green light from another PG chair.

I waited 2 months for a third round because the group needed to run it up and down the private equity group chain.
Relax. Unless you were lied to to your face, just chill. Things can go lighting speed. Sometimes they take forever.
Not consistent across firms. What matters is what the hiring partner says.
