Has anyone gotten their Personal taxes done at H&R Block recently? If so, how much did you have to pay? I just need help with preparing my taxes for my side business. I tried using FreeTaxUsa & TurboTax for my business taxes, but it was confusing.

Yes H&R Block is a joke. Back in the day I went to see if they could get me a larger refund that I got for myself. Nope. They are not tax professionals. They’re trained on how to operate a computer and input information.

If you follow the prompts on TurboTax you really shouldn’t have any issue. If you have real questions seek out a tax accountant.

Then the representative told me yesterday no one could review my tax documents with me & that if i "PARTIALLY" completed my taxes, then no one could help me. Idiots.

I’m not saying the whole place is bad, I’m sure they have good people, but they hire a lot of people seasonally. Turns out the kind of people available for seasonal data entry work are people not particularly well off, and the sampling I saw I would not want to give my personal info to. But then again I’d rather the IRS not have my personal info either.

$450-ish for state (CA) & federal, married/filing jointly. No idea what they’d charge for a business though.

$160, but my taxes were decently simple.

Paid to have last year’s relevant info uploaded

Property Taxes and Mortgage

Take a look at a Schedule C, small business/self employed, unless your and LLC wanting to be taxed as an S-Corp, in which case i dont think H&R prepared 1120-S. The program should figure your self employment tax (15.3%)

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

I’ve doing this for a good number of years. I think I depleted almost completely my interest in this business. When I’m out of the office or during the weekends I get into a “leave me alone state” and don’t want to know anything about the office. I actually just want to get in the agency, do the best I can within the time I have available, and get out. In a business where “the most committed wins” this is not an ideal mindset, but I’m done. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

I am not sure who needs to hear this but exactly one year ago, I was at my lowest point in life. Today, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Life has truly been a rollercoaster these past few years for me.

I am sharing this to tell you that no matter what you’re feeling right now, it won’t last. Even the happiness I feel right now, I’ve had that stripped from me multiple times. That is LIFE. We have the good and the bad.

Hang in there if times are bad. If things are good, prepare to lose it too.

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
