These are people who are controlling by nature who cannot trust people out of sight. Same people who love to throw unnecessary meetings on everyones calendar.
In my experience, it is a combination of perception of control and the need for in-person interaction to bolster their own sense of self-importance. Add in some level of mistrust of employees.
In office culture can’t be duplicated virtually. Without strong culture, employees are less loyal and more likely to move on to better incomes.
LM1- I’m giving the reason corporations want it. I’m not saying I agree with it, it totally depends on the role/company. My wife is working remotely and there’s no reason for her to go back to an office environment-even though they want her to. Her team is spread out across the country. And having her come into a local office would do nothing for her as she would interact work-wise with nobody. But in a collaborative environment or a sales environment, I do believe working together creates an environment of idea sharing and collaboration that can’t be done on schedules zoom calls.
Because the decider is an extrovert who thinks everybody gets energy from being with others.
Sounds about right
Because people have figured out how little they can do to keep their job since they aren’t supervised, and it’s slowing everything down.
I feel I can get things done faster now personally. And my team is overall more productive. I guess it depends on the company.

I’m an introvert but going into the office still makes me like my job a little more. I don’t like the commute but I do love the chitchat and the office culture
