Has anyone had their Tax LLM paid for by the federal government? Or any thoughts on how to reduce the sticker price of a Tax LLM from NYU or Georgetown?

Back in the day some firms would pay for you to get it at night. Never heard of the government paying for it.

like

There are scholarships, but the largest one for NYU would still only be 50% tuition and requires working on tax law review. Accounting firms pay for LLM, but you have yo stay with them for a few years.

like

Feds will never pay for a whole LLM

like

Georgetown has some opportunities for full rides (though it’s very few—approx 5-10 students each year)

like

Try UF. It ranks the same as Georgetown (for most years), ranks number 1 for public schools and it’s a fraction of the cost

like

Government does not pay for LLM.

like

You may be able to deduct the cost of the LLM if you have some prior legal work experience before you do the LLM

Thoughts on calendar being double booked? What are the etiquettes to be followed. Often people double book and it feels like “ my meeting is more important that whatever you have booked time for in yours”. If both meetings are same urgency/importance - what’s the best approach ? What are the expectations of leadership - to throw everything away and jump on to calls based on seniority ?

Like, sure, the market is there but no authority really blessed it (other than some Cravath partner’s article in Tax Notes in 2013). If we are talking asset class that isn’t really like marketable securities but might be able to treat it similarly solely by virtue of, say, valuation on a quarterly basis (contd)
