Has anyone read the Pyramid Principle by Barbara Minto? Is it a good read?

Sure it has great parts, maybe you can skim stories to get the main point in a short time

Very useful book, however most consultancies will teach you the pyramid principle as party of your on boarding program.

I think a good read is a stretch as it covers quite a dry topic: technical writing.

Worth reading but not much fun.

Amazing, appreciate it:))

Yes. Read it cover to cover. It’s not a waste of time. Saying it is only about technical writing is not the point of the book. Don’t skimp and watch video. Read and learn.

Highly recommend reading the 1996 edition (published by Minto international - not the older prentoce hall editions).

It has additional chapters on the topic of problem solving including the use of issue trees and a brief history of when the technique and modern terminology emerged in consulting. She offers an example from 1960's Mckinsey project for NYC.

I also get a laugh from Minto throwing so much shade at bad writing and miuse of terminology.
