I have around 10 years experience in IT industry, mainly on QA automation. I have experience with PwC and Deloitte in the USA.
My I797 expired, however I have 10 months remaining on initial 6 year period. I’m looking for opportunities in US for getting H1B/L1. I’m open for positions in India initially as well. I’d suggest reading Emotional Intelligence, Trillion Dollar Coach, Leaders Eat Last, and How to Win Friends and Influence People.
I assume your soft skill development is for becoming a better leader (good followship can also be leadership); in which case I like Herminia Ibarra's books - act like a leader,think like a leader was interesting. I've heard good things about leaders ear last as well.
I agree with one of Dr. Ibarra's points in that leadership is something that often requires experience. In lieu of experience you should spend time talking to, observing, and listening to good leaders then trialing out your own leadership style.
Soft skills often sre associated with care and trust. Listening to people, communicating their concerns to show you're listening, co-creating with people - it's all under caring, humility, and trust. If you care, you develop trust. And if you gut check your own assumptions before speaking and think about alternative points of view, it shows you care and people will follow or listen to you. Also, don't waste people's time.
