That’s correct, critical illness cover is brand new as of FY26/1 September 2025. It pays out a lump sum if you have one of the listed illnesses but sadly as Accenture didn’t have critical illness cover in place prior to 1 September 2025, it doesn’t cover any diagnoses before then. Understandably, it has to start from some date. You could explore income protection (permanent health insurance) with HR, that’s been around for years, if your claim is approved by insurers they pay a % of your salary for hours you can’t work due to your illness. A3 are you thinking of PHI (permanent health insurance) ie. Income Protection? That has been around for years, it’s different to Critical Illness which is a brand new offering and effective 1 September 2025, we have not had Critical Illness cover in place previously through ACN UK
