Has anyone used one of those paid negotiation companies to help them with a new job offer? How was your experience? Do you recommend?

I did. It helped increase my offer from $275K to $330K (I’m no longer at EY, I’m at a FAANG company now). The main thing the negotiating company was able to give me was:
a) inside knowledge of the processes that FAANG companies use to negotiate salaries
b) data on the salary bands and the maximum offer the position was paying
c) The key words and phrases to use during negotiation that recruiters respond to

How much did this service cost?

Have never heard of thess. How do they work? My initial feelings would be if I was trying to hire someone and their respons was great! Now y'all talk to this person to figure out my package I would be put off and probably go with someone else. But then again I am not in HR/ a hiring role so not sure of this is the norm these days.

But very interested in what others say as haven't heard about this until now

Aaaa thanks op. Makes much more sense now and probably a worthwhile service if they know what they are doing.

Saw something like this on TikTok. Was mostly for folks entering industry after being in consulting for a while and coming in at the Director+ level where the incentive structure is very important and getting a good first comp structure sets the tone for the future.

Question about inclusion…. I’ve been teaching inclusion for 5 years so I’m still a newb, but a first year coworker of mine said she got points off on her observation because her kids were scattered in the classroom and she was having to move from kid to kid to assist. While I see the point of putting them together for convenience, I don’t agree with this at all! To me this is like singling them out by putting them all together instead of INCLUDED amongst peers. What do y’all think?

I started a full time in-house design job that pays extremely well. I barely have to work at all. This makes me very confused since I kept hearing stories of people working 60+ hr weeks as designers at ad agencies. I am not complaining, but I have this creeping irrational feeling that I’ll get fired for not working even though there’s nothing for me to do. Should i be making up projects or asking for more work? Or just chill out? I just feel very confused. Are a lot of full time jobs like this?
