Have you ever been told you’re too sensitive at work? WTF do you do about it? I’ve brought up real concerns including tone in meetings, unfair treatment, clear double standards, and the response is almost always, “Maybe you’re just taking things too personally.” At this point, I hear too sensitive and translate it as “you noticed something we didn’t want you to.” Last week, I flagged a manager’s inappropriate joke, and instead of addressing it, I got coached on emotional resilience. Is this emotional gaslighting?

Well I used to get all up in my feels about it until one day I realized if I was a man zero would refer to me as emotional or sensitive, if I was a man I’d be passionate and probably promoted… correct them and refuse to be labeled as anything other than what they would refer to a man as in the same scenario
