Friends what's the recruitment process for BCG?
Tech startup or big tech company? And why?
Hi Everyone !!!
This June I completed my 9 months at Career Level 12 and Sub Level 3 I.e, CL 12.3 at Accenture Operations. My Annual Talent Discussion and One-on-One with People Lead is complete as of last week.
I have 3 questions now :
1. When can I expect to move to 12.2 ?
2. What is the general hike I can expect ? And when it is reflected ?
3. When will be the variable pay will be paid out ?
Can anyone here help me with this performance cycle part ? I am really confused.

I've felt a little behind before. I changed my career, and I started saving for retirement more. That's what I changed because it was what I felt I should have been doing instead of living for the moment. I know it's pretty circumstantial, but don't ever be afraid to change something.
I've felt that more than once in my life. For me, the best way to overcome the feeling was to ask myself first why do I feel this way? Sometimes it can just be a matter of perception or a proclivity toward comparison of myself with others. Second, if I find that I am in fact behind, I ask myself where I want to be and then create a plan for how to get there and STICK TO THE PLAN. Otherwise you'll always be wishing you were further along.
Being stuck in a job due to Anxiety for 20 years does that to you. It feels like spinning your wheels while everyone else leaves you in in the dust. I have finally overcome this issue and am looking to make up for lost time by changing careers and doing something that I enjoy. 🤞
Don’t compare yourself to others, stay away from social media, understand there’s no such thing as “by age X I should have accomplished Y.” And last but not least, enjoy the journey.
Just remember, no one on their deathbed wished they spent more time in the office. It takes a lot of effort to find balance. If your management or company won’t help. It might be time to look elsewhere. I recommend having a frank conversation with your management team about what you are looking for. I am a first level manager and I take pride in my efforts to help my people be satisfied in both work and personal lives
Consume less industry and media products, work out achievable plans for your goals, avoid FOMO
Everyone does at some point, because of our own expectations where we think we should be or because we’re trying to please others or compare to others. The best thing I think I’ve done is actually define well what greatness or success is in each area of my life (my definition, not someone else’s), then identify what I need to do to get there, and what’s keeping me from doing the things I need to do to get there. For example, health for me may be feeling always energetic, strong, and being a certain % fat but I realized that my habits of working out were not where they needed to be because the only time I can get it in is early in the morning…so what’s keeping me from getting there? Going to bed max at 10:30pm so that I can wake up rested at 5am… what’s keeping me from going to bed at that time? Watching tv, getting distracted, social media, etc…
This type of analysis allows me to identify what I need to Stop doing so that I can actually stop getting distracted from where I want to be, do the things I truly want to do, because they matter+ get me closer to where I want to be and I can stay focused. You got this, the best thing is that when we feel like this is because we’re ready to make a change and grow. The key in my opinion is time management, it affects all areas of our lives.
I listen to a lot of podcasts. It’s a great way to hear people get vulnerable about failure and picking themselves back up as opposed to the horrible vortex of Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn - which just has become a platform to inflate egos
As most people said here, don't get yourself in a rat race. Look back at your achievements or lessons. I bounced back quite a few times after various failures. I gave up after my divorce. I know, I'll take a break once I'm healed and raise up again. Find a purpose, either selfish or selfless. It will get you driving. But be sympathetic to yourself while healing. Don't sulk in for too long.
Definitely have that feeling. No matter how much I do something new pops up. Also inflation at an all time high isn’t helping
All the time, that’s when you gotta put things into perspective. Life is different for each person what I do at 30 will not be what you do. One thing I do when I feel that way is I rely on my religion to help guide me and help me stay on the path that I should be on. On top of that as much as you may want to change the past or have done something differently you can’t. And all you can do is move forward and keep chugging along
Still trying to figure it out, but I really appreciate the advice everyone has offered up so far
Yes, I did. I have been unemployed for countless times. I had a job that made me question my self worth so I resigned and I studied to get a degree but didn't get a job for several months after my graduation. I got married then pandemic came and I lost hope of getting a decent job so we planned not to get pregnant yet. We started a small business despite the pandemic restrictions and right now it's doing really good that we are earning 3 times as much compared to both my wife's salary combined. And now, aside from the business I have a decent stable job. So just think positive because what you think will be your reality.
That’s awesome. Congratulations.
Just lock in
Use that feeling as motivation. Set goals, be accountable for your responsibilities. One bite of the elephant at a time.
I haven't overcome it yet...
I feel like I am left behind at the moment. Looking for a job in this market l, when all you rely on is yourself, is tough. Yet, I will make it.
Don’t do it on your own. Yes, your going to make it.
My mother has always said," don't worry about what people to the left of you are doing, and don't worry about what people to the right of you are doing " chances are they feel the same way as you do. Just stay on YOUR path and take life one day at a time. Even the best thought out plans can change.
Prayers and perseverance
Pulled down the person ahead of me :😜
