Since I graduated from CSUN, I’ve been trying to find a job. It was hard finding a entry job software engineering job that requires few years of experience. As a deaf person, many obstacles in my path that I fought so hard to get past them. For instance, they tried to call my videophone, which has an American Sign Language interpreter to pass messages through a webcam and phone call, and thought it was not me. Has anyone ever had to sign a non-compete? The contract I have in an offer has a clause that states I cannot go to a competitor for a 2 year restriction period following my termination of employment. The competition clause seems very broad. I’ve tried to negotiate it out but company isn’t budging. It seems hard to enforce. Any thoughts?
