Not at my current job. Most of my discussions with my boss happen through DM, which is very intentional on his part. That way he can claim my ideas as his own and then takes ownership over what happens next. Annoying, but I just collect my paycheck and get on with it.
I definitely felt like I had ownership over a few campaigns I’ve done. I think as long as the main idea of the concept and the insight is yours, then you feel more ownership over it. But if you’re working on a team and they morph the idea so much that it’s something completely different, then that ownership feeling gets lost. But advertising is also a team sport, especially when you’re a junior. We aim to be good enough that nobody would feel the need to change your idea because you learned how to make them unbreakable.
Honestly, even when I come up with ideas, I still never feel like I take ownership of them. Like, once they leave my brain, they belong to the community. Sometimes I will see a project through mostly on my own and maybe then I'll feel a little bit of ownership, but that's rare.
