1. Any half decent cedar shoe tree will do fine. Don't worry too much about the details like solid or split toes, or getting the fanciest brand.
2. That being said, you want to make sure that your shoe trees don't stretch your shoes out too much. So don't get something too big... if in doubt, get something on the slightly smaller end of what you think the right size is.
3. Yes, you can use them for boots and sneakers too. Regardless of how your shoe looks, if it is made of leather and is also made to wrap nicely around your foot (which I hope your shoes are) then a shoe tree can be beneficial
