I’m a Data Scientist and wanted your opinion on current market trends. With the rise of GenAI and AI Engineering, is traditional Data Science still holding strong value?

Also, should I shift toward GenAI/AI Engineering, or stay focused on Data Science? Are there roles that balance both?

Should I be concerned about abusing adderell? I was depressed/lacking motivation and needed to get some deals done and my hours up ASAP. Convinced my doctor I had ADHD, so I now have a legal prescription. I feel so much better, and am getting so much accomplished. No judgement please. We all know this is a high stress, high pressure environment.

Any non-fiction book recommendations? I normally don’t like NF but recently read Bad Blood by John Carreyrou and loved the style/pace. Any similar recs?

Are people still live on here? I was diagnosed last year with ADD and I’ve tried two stimulants so far. I know they aren’t meant to be a magic pill but I’m still struggling with general tasks and feel like I’m doing the bare minimum. The Nurse has suggested I try non stimulants. What are peoples experiences with meds ? Did they work or not?

Would folks be open to participating in a “PM Office Hours” style discussion?

Flexible on format etc; here’s what I’m thinking:
- We choose a particular problem for a week (/month?) which a lot (all?) PMs face regularly. E.g. “stakeholder mapping”
- we have a “Fishbowl Live event” where we (practicing PMs) can discuss what we have seen work / not work/ brainstorm solutions for someone with a specific problem.

The idea is to provide multiple peer perspectives, and hopefully something useful

For those who hire new software developers, does it make you stand out if you get your certificate from a university instead of a coding academy (like coding dojo or something)? I noticed the universities are a bit more expensive but is it worth the price to have a university on your resume or does it not really matter?
