Hello everyone! So I just submitted my resignation to this sloppy GC company in reseda. There was sexism, unfair treatment and poor management. I tried my best to stick with it to grow in my marketing and networking career but there was just no growth and decided to not endure that anymore. I don’t have anything lined up for now but I’ll pick myself back up again. Please if you have any advice or if u had the same experience, feel free to share :)

I see a lot of open roles - managers, senior strategists etc. I have a top 20 MBA and about 8 years of big 4 experience in consulting - would this be the right kind of role to get into? I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

I currently work in Transactions Tax but I am keen to move into Corporate Finance or FDD.

I dont have any prior Audit experience so I am just pondering how realistic my aspirations are given my tax background. Can anyone advise as to what would be the best route of transition?

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.

How difficult will it be to transition from Internal Audit and IT audit to a traditional Accounting or Finance role(senior financial analyst, senior accountant, etc)?

Once you get into a FAANG company, is it better to stay where you are or move around? I’m a dissatisfied with my current job but I have vesting stocks, work 9-5, and people to know and respect me. I am the sole provider for my family and value quality of life and stability. I have some interview requests from other FAANG companies that I know pay more but I worry about starting over. Anyone switch companies and either regret it or are glad they did?
