Hello. I applaud your pursuits. I’m currently working on my doctorate. To enhance your chances of ascertaining a professorship, it is good to have a P.H.D and published research articles in peer reviewed journals.
Yes! Once the dissertation is approved and published, reformat it for submission to a peer reviewed journal. Good Luck!
Something to think about .... after I completed my doctorate degree, I applied for a position as a professor. I was shocked to learn that I would take a $20K+ pay cut. I spoke with the head of the department and was told that was standard. I stayed in public PK-12.
More info needed: what major/focus? What types of colleges? Do you have a bachelors?
Call cold
Only a small fraction of PhDs who seek a professorship will ever get a job at a college. What do you bring that is superior to the dozens or hundreds of other applicants? What makes you stand out?
It's hard to have experience when no one will allow you to
Do have any any experience
What is your subject of strength that you could teach now? If you have a Master's already, apply for an adjunct faculty position at a community college. Appear professional, confident, yet humble. Prepare a video where you are teaching a mini-lesson based on the subject the college needs and your mastery strength, focus the topic to up to 15 mins, from intro to summary, explaining as if you have students in a classroom. Prepare a mini assignment, so your students earn "extra credit" (engage). (Dept. Dir. will give you the specific subject to present, but organization & activities are yours). Dress for your presentation success - no flashy or bold or "sexy." The adjunct course will require time to prepare, but will pave your way for future full-time faculty - even before you finish your PhD. Please don't brag about your PhD studies, be concise - avoids envy weeds from growth. Best & bright beginning.
I'm not quite understanding the question: you are in a PhD program and looking to work as faculty at a college or university when you have completed your program? Or you have completed bachelor's and master's programs online and are looking for a PhD program?
I am trying to do adjunct professor position and I have applied to several jobs and I have the degree but never hear anything or only get denials
