Try focusing on a specific domain, like identity and access management. Look for user admin roles. It’s easier to get your foot in the door if you move from first level support into second level. From there you can move onto other areas.

Wondering if anyone can share the approximate timeline after applying to Target Corp. to hearing something from them. Applied 9/1 and on the applicant portal the status still says “in progress.” I got a great internal referral, but I’ve not reached out to the hiring manager. 😬 I know there were a few hundred applicants — what’s a realistic timeline and what could I say to the hiring manager if I reach out to them. Many thanks.

I am a junior full stack dev looking to move to a better paying junior role or a mid role and honestly these style of questions have always stumped me. I have found that in a year of work to have never found them useful in tackling real world issues. Now I'm moving from a junior to a mid can I still expect leetcode style questions?

I work mainly with react, TS, node, graphql, mongoose and mongoDB.

I was recently approached by a recruiter about a position as a litigation attorney at the DOJ. Looking to leave but trying to conceive ( 1 year now and having fertility issue). I am sticking around cause the flexibility is great with me need to see RE and get blood draw. But also concerned I'm just going to end up not leaving if I never get pregnant :( Upcoming year will be a new client for me and I know it'll bring stress. However a new role in industry might not be as easy either and I'll need to prove myself, where as currently I'm already regarded as a high performer and gained trust.

Final round! Panel interview w an assignment to present some ideas on how to increase customers for 1 of 5 key audience segments.
I’m most familiar with 1 as it’s the audience I work with at current job. Not enough info/experience with other 2 segments. Remaining segments I know enough but not as confidently.

Will it look like I took the easy way out if I chose my segment? They know it’s my current audience and has been for 8 yrs. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Which companies pay the most for in-house legal / would find prior in-house VC experience useful? I run legal at a VC fund but am barely breaking $200K. I am ex V10 M&A and came from a traditional in-house gig (5 yrs total exp).

I think I may need to transition (eventually) out of my current role because my work/skills are getting very narrow. I don’t want to get pigeonholed. Ideal job for me would be corporate development related legal or product related work.

Google is obviously a better brand than my other offer, but I’m not sure if that is enough to make it worth it.

I'm open to remote, or Hybrid roles (Florida). I took a slight pay cut when I moved to this job and that is not something I wish to do again at this time. (Looking for a base of at least 95k)

What is the standard yearly hike in IT Security industry in North America? I have worked for 7 months in Threat Intelligence in a company in Canada, and I got a yearly hike of just 3% in my first appraisal cycle. My manager says that you get 3% when you are meeting expectations but not going above and beyond. Is this the standard or am I being underpaid? According to me, I haven't gone above and beyond every day, but there are some things I did work on exceptionally well.
