Hello All, I have just accepted an offer with Accenture Business (Strategy & Consulting) at Career level 9. I was told I get to move from 9 to 7. Please is this a norm ? If yes, why is there an 8 ? Lastly, what is the realistic/average timeline to indeed move from 9 to 7 ?

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow? I am a top performer, with great metrics, and I have some wonderful connections I’ve made who support me. I just can’t seem to move up. How long did it take you to move up? How many tries did it take?

Does anyone else try flipping on stockx? I got into it unintentionally when WFH started with my first purchase of a pair of Nike reacts (I didn't like them enough to wear them). Also hearing from the realtor that the play has to be that you say it’s your 2nd home to use on weekends or something like that so you don’t end up with higher down or high interest rates that are associated with a typical investment prop from lender standpoint. Curious to know how this works.

Do any agencies give year end bonuses?

I’m interviewing for jobs and I received an offer from company A, but I’d prefer company B. I told company B that I’d received an offer, and asked when they’d be making their decision/if we could speed up the process. I put company A off for as long as I could but I went ahead and accepted, just in case. Does it help me at all to go back to B and tell them I turned down A’s offer? Like, will it make me look super committed or does them thinking I have an active competing offer help me more?

Help - my offer just got accepted and I need to secure mortgage within 30 days. What are the hidden things I need to consider apart from interest rates. My preapproval has decent rate (2.75%) but I feel closing is high at $16k. Also lists transfer taxes that seller is expected to pay and I’m not sure if seller is aware. It also says I may not be able to refinance this loan. I’m immigrant and slightly overwhelmed and want to hear best tactics used while shopping around. Thanks in advance

In a competitive market, how can I convince a seller to accept an FHA? My agent already reached out to sellers’ agent and didn’t seem to try any persuasion tactics or give reassurance. I’m very committed to this house.

How do people feel about 7-ARM? I am getting 3.75% for 7-ARM vs 4.125% for 30-fixed. I typically prefer 30-fixed, but the monthly p&i will be lower by $300 and closing cost will be $4k lower. Unsure about ARM products, as we all don’t know where the rate will be in a few years…

Put house on the market at what realtor thinks is a fair value. So far (only five showings) everyone likes the house but says it’s too expensive given updates they’d want to make (they don’t say what but I’m guessing updating the bathrooms as example). Would you let the property hang out longer or would you move quickly to drop the price down? We’re actually not in a rush to sell but it’s frustrating hearing everyone else say their house sold in like a day
