So. I’ve been out of work for two months. Tonight, my girlfriend left me, which means I lose my apartment. Unemployment is minimal. Rock bottom family. I’m officially lost and too old for this.

I just started my first fulltime job. It is inhouse and I'm in office. I've been here for a little less then a month now but I still feel like they don't have enough work for me to be full time. I'm constantly asking my Manager what I should be working on and she hardly ever gives me anything. So far I've spent 80% of my days here just researching/reading industry articles. I know it will ramp up some but I feel like there is no way it will be enough to fill 40 hours. What do I do?

I accepted a job a couple of weeks ago, gave my notice and told them I would start in May. Last week I was in the hospital for 4 days due to a condition that I was also hospitalized for in October and January. I now have to have surgery to remove part of my intestine on April 22nd. Know one 8th year lit associate who is EXTREMELY intelligent. Has an incredible ability to get the gist of cases very quickly and filter in the relevant and out the irrelevant. He writes excellent, brief, down to the bone motions. He goes home at 5-6, even when preparing for trial, because he knows what to do. Hands down the best lawyer I know, clients love him.

How do you ask your clients to do any work? It’s supposed to be team of 3 but one is too lazy and the other one never knows what’s going on. I feel like I’m doing the work of at least 3 people. To make it worse my lead doesn’t consider it a problem after I brought it up from time to time. He’s extremely hardworking and made me peak at imposter syndrome. It’s also my new job so I try hard. I like what the project itself but the clients that I work with are nice but terrible at their jobs.

Can buy a house closer to friends and more lively, but worse school districts (not awful, just worse) -- or can get one a little farther away, more residential, but better schools.
