You should absolutely retake - chances are super high you do better next time around. I advise anyone to take it twice because the first time you take it, you’re dealing with so many new variables and nerves that only exist in the real test (e.g., those other people in the testing room, the whiteboard paper, or if virtual, the knowledge you’re being watched). My score went up 50 points just from taking the test again a month after my first try, and all I did in between was do more practice tests & practice questions.
A 655 will need an exceptional story to get into GSB. Your goal with your GMAT score is to remove it as a variable that adcom can rule you out for, so it’s in your best interest not to be 5 percentiles points below their average score.
To me, that’s right on the threshold. If you feel like you have another attempt in you and you can truly get a higher score (i.e. you’re now mocking higher than that) then it can’t hurt. You can’t really go back to gmat studying in a year from now or something

If you havnt already I strongly reccomend trying the GRE. I had similar results to you when doing the GMAT until I switched to GRE which felt much better. Ended up with a great score + schools
You should absolutely retake! I suggest that folks plan to take the test 3 times. If they get a score they are at peace with in one or two attempts, great! But one and done shouldn't be a thing unless you are solidly above the average which would be 685+.
I am at 675 - 96% at the moment. Thoughts? Thinking about a 3rd attempt.
I can help you get your score up.
