I have 4 years of experience at data servicer companies (think Nielsen, Circana, etc.), much of it spent helping CPG clients. I'm looking to transition to a brand-side role (category/brand management) but have struggled to get interviews, even with referrals. If you’ve made this switch, how was the process? Was it difficult or time-consuming? What challenges did you face, and do you prefer working on the brand side? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I'm curious what's the average salary for a brand manager in NYC (CPG/Food industry) with 3 yrs of experience?

Any tips on how to deal with this…my entire team was let go today (was 5, now just me). We functioned as the Marketing team for 4 brands and primarily focused on product launches and sustaining social media content. My plan moving forward is to only focus on the top revenue driving product launches for now and say “no” to basically everything else. Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation and can offer some advice.
