The Village and the M Streets are both excellent on safety
I’m not that familiar with Bryan and Swiss by name but lower Greenville tends to mostly be fine, some nice apartments just off lowest Greenville but obviously it’ll be louder on Greenville at night.
University Park / Highland Park & Preston Hollow is really safe.
True.
Frisco
K1 is right. People completely miss the assignment.
Las Colinas - Around Lake Carolyn
I live here and it’s pretty safe but honestly I’m always scared and prepared for the worst and barely walk around by myself lol
Deep Ellum
I wouldn’t call Deep Ellum safe
Honestly, try to live up near Addison or Plano/shops at legacy if possible. Many areas in Dallas are getting to be unsafe.
There was literally a case at shops of legacy of sex trafficking a few weeks ago what advice is this LOL. Go stay in state Thomas area if you want city; if suburb go to Plano/little elm
Would have said uptown but sheeesh that place is getting sketchy
Las colinas (on lake carolyn), Frisco, Plano (legacy west area)
It’s not for me personally - I have a friend that lives downtown - but she has a huge German Shepard she takes with her anywhere. Would I tell my sister, or my mother, or you to move there - probably not.
Lovers and inwood area
I amend my statement; if what Underwriter 1 said is true, I’d avoid that area. Far north Dallas used to be safe; nows it’s entirely unsafe. It’s not the folks fault who live there, Section 8 or otherwise, just a reality of the area.
State Thomas, Uptown, Victory Park, Knox Henderson, Lower Grenville are all nice areas.
Addison, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen. Uptown is semi-safe.
Thank you very much!
Dad advice-assuming your office is downtown(ish). Look at the Plano Legacy area or Frisco. Commute if you can avoid rush hour is very manageable. A lot can be said for getting a coffee or going to the market and not having to be looking over your shoulder constantly. Well worth the commute trade off and is still not all houses. My daughter relocated to LA last year and had same concerns, so Marina del Rey
Near plano Legacy west, you can take non stop bus to Dallas downtown .. makes it a lot easier
You didn’t ask about anything but safety but Uptown is one of the best areas in Dallas IMO because it’s walkable, lively, and you’ll be surrounded by other young people with tons of fun stuff to do. I def stopped feeling safe taking my dog out at night there though, otherwise everything else was fine safety wise. I left Uptown for a suburban house last week and bawled my eyes out feeling like I went from 24 to 40 years old. Frisco is very family-oriented but is really nice, safe, and has lots to do as well but will be less walkable. If you are going purely off of safety, I’d say Frisco for sure.
And legacy west
