It is pretty good. We have share parental leave but beefed up so more of it is on full pay. You share 52 weeks with your spouse, about 39 of which are full pay. As an aside, if your spouse is not at Accenture then just take as much off as you want or declare that your wife was not on full pay the whole time so you can have those weeks.
I took 20 weeks off on full pay. Was dope.
For example, if you other half took 26 weeks off then that would leave 26 for you. Combined 39 would be on full pay so you if all of theirs was full pay you would have 11 weeks full pay and 15 on Shared Parental Pay (which is like £110 a week or something awful: it is set by the government).
What I was told, off the record, is to just take as much time as you want and declare that your spouse is not taking hers on full pay if you are paid more.
SPL, as in the time off, is a government thing but the pay you get is absolute trash. Accenture topping it up to full pay is really good. Most place do like 80% pay for like 3 months or something.
It is none of Accenture’s business how much time someone employed at a different firm takes off. So you can just lie.
Fairly sure Accenture has the best parental leave in all of UK followed by TFL
Just to chirp in, it really is excellent! Flexible and can be tailored to your needs so you really do get to spend time with the baby!
