Hi all,

Just wanted to share that I have been trying for 15 years now to get a role I feel I deserve within the fraud prevention industry and now I’m in my 40’s and feeling discouraged. My role currently consists of Fraud, however it doesn’t pay what I think I should have and any time I apply to other like roles, they send me the “we’re moving forward with someone who better fits this role” email. I could have the exact same”must haves” and I still get sent “the email”. Anyone have any advice?

What certifications do you currently hold? What other must haves are you citing? What salary does this new role or the role you are aiming first next command in the market?

Sounds like you are due to have a very candid conversation with your manager on this topic and where they see your trajectory or role. To prep for that discussion, make sure you do some research to understand what that senior level expectations are. Then align with your manager to understand where there are potentially gaps to address.

I joined IBM around year ago.
i have 9 YOE and i was given band 7A saying its lead role.
However in project i was treated as team member l. Initially i was okay as i thought i will be familiar with environment and later will take more responsibility.
But then they gave me release after few months.
No hike also this year.
Future also seems unclear as i feel low self-esteem seeing collegues my experience earning well and having better roles.
I really think joining IBM was wrong decision.

Interesting. Let’s see if the uptick In cases continues to drive an uptick in hospitalizations and then in fatalities. Depends on how many of the cases are incidental or in very young people not prone to severe cases. But either way, look at the hospital capacity utilization figures! This is the untold story. Were we bending the curve to avoid unnecessary deaths due to overcrowded hospitals, or were we bending the curve to buy time for treatments and vaccine, or just to slow fatalities?
