If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

PCS is much more than preparing 1040’s. It is providing services for the whole private enterprise (ie, from the business to the owner). I’m involved with multiple entities that have over a $1B in revenue. PCS allows you to have a deeper understanding of how the individual makes his money. There are some clients with 80 partnership returns, 30 trusts, 1 foundation, but only 1 individual return. Don’t think anyone will be able to automate all of that.
If you have any questions, throw them out here. Not sure if you saw Kate’s email, but the PCS practice is one of the practices the firm is putting significant resources into. Maybe I’m biased, but not a bad service line to go into.

If your end goal is to be an advisor for the wealthy then yes, you should join the EY PCS tax team ASAP. It will take time to get to the point where you provide your clients “wisdom” and not just compliance services
I’m a senior in the group FYI. If it helps, in the new “west” region lol
Appreciate the insight EY 1! That’s all really good to know. I’m not a typical accounting background (finance major currently in IT Audit) so I need to get my CPA, but I want to gain PCS tax experience and someday down the line be a wealth advisor for HNWI/UHNWI. Do you believe it would be beneficial to get the EY PCS Tax experience early on in my career EY1?
I still need accounting credit hours to sit for the CPA, so before going down this long road I want to be sure it’s a good option for me
