I have joined as a manger 4 months ago at Amgen India AIN and can only speak from my experience, if you are passionate individual who needs to do good work or an individual who cares about self respect or work culture or want to work with leaders who have some empathy : my answer would be do not join
Otherwise if you just go to office and do not care much about culture and want to get money every month : you can absolutely join
You are a manager under whicj department
So is the culture bad or it majorly depends on manager at India or US leadership?
Overall in general the culture is bad mainly because of lack of empathy in the leadership. Most of the senior leaders are selfish and do not know how to Lead. This will be evident from day1.
I still remember my day 1 my manager made sure I do not breathe. While also saying take it slow but wanted me to complete all the assigned learnings and training’s with in a week even when their deadline is 2 months away. when you interact with leadership it would be quite evident that they don’t belong on that seat. They do not have a vision and even if everything collapses which is happening they do not know how to rebuild because they were never trained to Lead but only to micro manage
Again is this only specific to management roles or IC roles are also bad ? To perform
