I Recently told company A verbally I will accept their offer if they match a job offer I have from Company B and they did. When I informed Company B that I will not be accepting their offer they gave me a sweet counteroffer that i’m seriously considering, What should I say to Company A?

Be upfront but also consider your objective. Are you hoping company A will match or are you looking for a way to say to A that you’re out? Regardless, being honest with them is best.

like

Say you prefer them but the other company countered more

If it's a huge amount of money and you'd enjoy working at Company B, I'd go with B.

Re honesty: they would rescind their offer without a second thought I'd they thought future demand changed. I was just reading about Meta rescinding offers to college seniors.

Vibe from the hiring mgr should not hold too much value. In our line of work, how often do you work with your hiring manager after getting hired ?

Any tax accountants/attorneys in here? What would happen to the 401k of a foreign worker if they cannot longer maintain an immigration status and have to go back home? What about a ROTH 401k? Assuming they made after-tax contributions, would they still be able to take tax-free distributions if they are non-resident aliens for tax purposes?

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

If you're being told "take your full lunch" (because by law you need to be given a certain amount of lunch depending on how many hours you work) but then you're told, if work's not done you need to stay until it is, and now people don't want to take their full lunches because it means they'll have to stay after work longer, is that coercion a violation of any federal labor laws?
