Where do you see yourself working in the next 5 years, 10 years? These are 2 very different career tracks, so I think you should consider if you want to stay in the Legal space or transition to more business roles. I got my MBA as a way to stand out in hiring processes and have a leg up against my colleagues in the digital marketing space, and I’ve found the skills I’ve learned in my MBA to be incredibly useful. also if going the MBA route, deeply consider the school, its costs if that’s a factor, and where the alumni work. You’ll be working alongside your fellow classmates for 2 years and that alumni network can be a launching point for your next step if transitioning into business.
If you see yourself running your own law firm down the road, there are joint MBA/JD programs out there that may suit you as well.
As for the JD, factor in what state(s) you’ll consider practicing and what their bar test and any transfer is like should you move down the road.
If you already have a bachelors in business I am honestly not sure what an MBA would provide. you can easily switch careers without doing extra school for fu
