National Holidays or any leave applied on portal = WFO.
It’s mentioned in the policy, that u need not compensate for a holiday/vacation that falls in your scheduled days to office. For eg- If your team decides to work on a Mon- Thurs schedule and if Thursday is a holiday/you are on vacation, you need not compensate for that day by coming to office on Friday. So that week will be a 3 day week for you.

Example for the last week of January - 26th national holiday. The next 4 days we need to come to the office. This approach is considered in all global locations. 4 working days we need to come to the office in a week unless you have 2 national holidays in a week.
That’s understandable as it is not mentioned in the policy itself, But check the FAQ. It’s mentioned there. May be you can bring this up to their attention.

I raised a case for this with People First.. They confirmed the same.. No need to compensate for a leave (of any type) and National Holidays..
