US / New York folks - anyone here?
Booz Allen Hamilton rescinded my offer because my current firm will not waive the non-compete clause in our employee agreement. It was allegedly a capability hire, and not tied to a particular project.
I work one level above entry level, and really shouldn’t even have such a restrictive non-compete.
I’ve already resigned, and would prefer to be unemployed rather than continue working here.

I would have formal 1-2-1s (weekly, biweekly, whatever) and then ask each one what they prefer outside of that. That shows you’re invested in them and considerate of how they work best.
A formal 1-1, once a week. And then as needed as the work dictates and the personalities of the direct reports. Sometimes it’s once a day, sometimes it is just during the formal meetings.
At least once a week. I put an official one on one touchpoint on the calendar so that they know they are a priority for me.
I have a one on one with my boss once a week but via teams we chat daily fwiw
Depends on your work. I am HR Director so I touch base daily, 2X a day during busier times. My employees appreciate it and feel supported. Official touch bases are twice a week due to the nature of our work.
In other positions, I would check in every 1-2 days max. Again, they appreciated it and felt like I was accessible and supportive.
I have 1-1 with my manager every 3 weeks
I message / ping with everyone on my team at least 1x day and then have formal 1-1s weekly. Team of 6
Weekly 1:1 is fine and if the team’s scope is big and needs more detailed updates outside of normal catchup then an additional team meeting might he helpful.
Weekly 1:1’s with each team member, every other week team tag up, and ad hoc whenever they ask for one. We also chat on Teams frequently.
